2013 Starting out in the kilns...
Mixing it up with some plain ceramic white tiles, the focus of this backsplash is all about the iridized, textured and metallic sheen of the fused glass tiles. See the new TILE PAGE to see sooo many options for custom tile for your home. Contact the studio directly for more information.
Rising Sun Art Festival September 15 and 16, 2012
We had a fabulous time showing our glass at the Rising Sun Art Festival this year. The weather cooperated and the art lovers had 2 days to stroll along the scenic Ohio River and choose from many wonderful potters, painters, jewelry, glass and textile artists. Our booth looked straight out into the river and this festival committee treats their artists to first class hospitality.
2012 The Sleeping Porch Glass Studio
Our fabulous old house had a lazy sleeping porch that had been enclosed many years ago. Some paint, a new tile floor and the glass tables and tools and we have the new studio space up and running. Yeah! Thanks to all of my family, friends, students and customers that support me in the glass arts.
This particular plate is a variation of a stacked pinwheel technique. This design is a variation of my original design and it's one design that can be altered sooooo many ways!
Fused Dichroic Pendants- the Fall 2012 Collection Preview!
Stocking up for fall orders and Christmas, these pendants are as popular as ever. It's actually difficult to make 2 alike - so they all have their own unique look and go from casual to formal with the switch between leather cord, ribbon, chunky chain or delicate chain. A variety of bails in many shapes of silverplate, sterling, gold plate and copper are available. Call or email for availability. They're a quick gift giving fix for any occasion.
2011 finds me renovating and restoring our "new" 101 year old home!
Imagine the thrill of finding an old transom buried in our living room wall above the door...
Of course, that meant matching a custom transom to the door we purchased!
Just too much fun, what can I say...
2010 was also wonderful when I had the honor of teaching a summer fusing glass to an elite group of students. Art teachers from all over Indiana came to Ball State University where we covered the fusing basics to get them started in jewelry making or being able to use their classroom kilns to show their students. My thanks to Lili Stokes and Sandy Hall for inviting me to teach this session.
